Cody Hernandez is awarded an HHMI Gilliam Fellowship for Advanced Study

Cody Hernandez was recently awarded the HHMI Gillam Fellowship for Advanced Study. This fellowship recognizes students who demonstrate the potential to become leaders in STEM fields and promote diversity within the sciences.

Cody has previously demonstrated his skillset not only as an accomplished biochemist in the Maeder Lab as an undergraduate, but also spearheading new research projects in the Staley Lab. Cody also started the Graduate Recruitment Initiative Team at UChicago, which was instrumental in large increases in the recuitment of underrepresented minority students to UChicago's Biological Sciences Division over the past two years.

Congratulations again to Cody!
